Module 5 / Lesson 14

Survival & Beyond

1 min read

In Lesson 13, we examined the "Great Silence" of the cosmos as evidence that most civilizations likely fail. Lesson 14 is about how humanity becomes the exception. We transition from analyzing the risks to defining the agency and potential we have to shape a multi-millennial future.

Sub-Lessons

  • Lesson 14.1: What to Do, What Not to Do
A dive into "Differential Technological Development." We explore how to prioritize safety-enhancing technologies while creating global guardrails for dangerous capabilities.
  • Lesson 14.2: Our Potential
The "Optimistic Ending." If we survive the Great Filter, what does a post-scarcity, interstellar, and flourishing human future actually look like?
This module is the most important part of the course. It moves us from fear to stewardship. The goal isn't just to not die; it's to realize how much we have to lose if we fail.
